Our vermiculture operation turns organic waste into premium worm castings that feed directly back into our grows. Our hydroponic systems use significantly less water than traditional farming because the water recirculates rather than running off. Our mushrooms grow on natural substrate in a controlled environment with minimal energy waste. And because everything is grown and sold locally, there's no cross-country shipping, no cold chain, no warehouse stops.

What does Shadowmere Farm grow?
We grow four product lines: fresh microgreens (grown to order), culinary herbs, gourmet mushrooms (oyster, lion's mane, and expanding), and worm castings and worm tea. Everything is grown in controlled environments without pesticides.

How do you grow your products?
We use the best method for each crop. Microgreens and leafy greens are grown hydroponically. Mushrooms are cultivated on sterilized substrate in a dedicated fruiting space with controlled temperature and humidity. Herbs grow in containers with soilless media (coco coir and perlite, hydroton). And our worm castings come from on-site vermiculture — worm bins that process organic matter into premium soil amendments.

Are your products organic?
We grow without pesticides and with full transparency about every input. We are not currently USDA Certified Organic, as that certification process takes time and involves specific requirements beyond just growing practices. What we can tell you is exactly what goes into every product we sell — no exceptions.
